The firm of Steirman, Whitfield and Co. PC has two licensed and experienced CPAs.

Jane Whitfield has been a CPA since 1985 when she passed all four parts of the  national exam the first time. She has developed an extensive background in individual and small business tax planning since that time.  Jane has been very active in the Texas Society of CPAs, both at the state and local chapter. Her  community and civic club activity includes Keep Texas Beautiful, the Riparian Business Women’s Club, and St. Mary School Foundation.  A graduate of the Southeast Texas Leadership program and lecturer at Lamar College — Orange, TX.

Joel Steirman has been a CPA since 1978 and passed the exam during the first year of his employment in public accounting.  Joel served as the first Chief Financial Officer of  Calcasieu Parish School Board and created the process still used for budgeting, forty years later. He is a veteran with ten years active duty in the US Army and left the service with the rank of Captain, before entering public accounting. He is a member of the Orange Rotary Club and has 28 years of perfect attendance. Mr. Steirman has been a Peer Reviewer, under the AICPA’s National Peer Review Program since 1987. He served on the Texas Society of CPAs Peer Review Committee for nine years. He practices in the audit areas of government, state and local and not for profit entities. He is an experienced forensic accountant and is a certified information technology  professional granted by the AICPA based experience and knowledge of current automated and electronic data based systems.
